Peddi Released in Theatres on June 4, 2026
The June 4 date was confirmed during the film’s official promotional campaign. When Vriddhi Cinemas released the trailer on May 18, the announcement clearly stated that Peddi would arrive in cinemas worldwide on June 4. YouTube
India Today also reported ahead of release that the makers had locked June 4 for the Ram Charan-starrer, positioning it in the post-IPL theatrical window. The film eventually opened globally on that date, with special screenings beginning on the night of June 3 in some markets. India Today
For anyone arriving on this page through an older search result, the important update is simple: June 4, 2026 was the theatrical release date, not a future release date.
What Is Peddi About?
Peddi uses sport as the centre of a much larger community story.
BookMyShow describes the film as being set in rural Andhra Pradesh, where a spirited villager brings his community together through sport while defending its pride against a powerful rival. Netflix frames the story slightly differently, describing a labourer from a village that does not officially exist whose exceptional athletic talent becomes a way to fight for his people’s recognition. BookMyShow
That combination gives Peddi more than a straightforward sports-film setup. The matches and physical contests matter, but the larger stakes concern identity, community and dignity.
Ram Charan Leads the Peddi Cast
Ram Charan plays Peddi, the central athlete around whom the story is built.
The principal cast includes:
Ram Charan
Janhvi Kapoor
Shiva Rajkumar
Jagapathi Babu
Divyenndu
Boman Irani
Ravi Kishan
Rao Ramesh
Upendra Limaye
John Vijay
The official trailer credits Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma among the main cast, while Netflix’s current title page lists the broader ensemble. YouTube
Buchi Babu Sana Directs Peddi
Buchi Babu Sana wrote and directed Peddi.
The project was produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings associated with the film’s presentation. A. R. Rahman composed the music, R. Rathnavelu handled cinematography and Navin Nooli edited the film. YouTube
The creative combination is important because Peddi is built as a large-screen sports drama without losing its rural setting. Its action and sporting sequences sit alongside a story about the protagonist’s relationship with his village.
What the Peddi Trailer Revealed
The official trailer arrived on May 18, 2026.
Rather than selling the movie only through star power, the trailer focused heavily on physical competition, village conflict and Peddi’s position within his community. It also served as one of the clearest official confirmations of the June 4 worldwide release date. YouTube
The footage also established the film’s visual identity: dusty rural locations, large crowds, competitive sport and a lead character whose personal ambitions are closely tied to the people around him.
How Long Is Peddi?
BookMyShow lists Peddi with a runtime of 3 hours and 9 minutes and a U/A 16+ classification. BookMyShow
That makes it a comparatively long theatrical film, but the runtime reflects the scale of its sports sequences, ensemble cast and community-driven dramatic arc.
When Did Peddi Come to Netflix?
After its theatrical run, Peddi moved to Netflix.
India Today reported that Netflix announced a July 9, 2026 digital premiere for the film, initially in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, with the Hindi version scheduled separately. India Today’s July 9 streaming roundup also listed Peddi among that week’s Netflix releases. India Today
Netflix currently maintains an official title page for Peddi, although availability can vary by country or region. Netflix
So the two dates readers should distinguish are:
June 4, 2026: worldwide theatrical release
July 9, 2026: Netflix digital premiere
Why This Peddi Release-Date Article Needed an Update
Release-date pages can become misleading when they continue presenting a movie as “upcoming” months after the announced date has passed.
This article originally tracked the peddi movie release date before the theatrical launch. The historical June 4 announcement remains important, but the page now also needs to reflect what happened afterward.
The movie released in cinemas, completed its theatrical window and subsequently reached Netflix. Updating that context makes the page useful for someone finding it today rather than preserving an outdated countdown.
