The Jack Ryan Ghost War streaming guide is now much simpler than it was when the project was first announced. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War is no longer an upcoming movie: the feature film premiered on Prime Video on May 20, 2026 and is currently available to stream.
John Krasinski returns as Jack Ryan after playing the CIA analyst-turned-operative across four seasons of Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. The movie also brings back Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly while introducing Sienna Miller as MI6 officer Emma Marlow.
This page focuses on confirmed streaming, cast and production information rather than unsupported review claims or plot speculation.

Where Can You Watch Jack Ryan: Ghost War?
Jack Ryan: Ghost War is streaming on Prime Video.
Amazon says the movie launched exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
The film continues the same version of Jack Ryan established in the Prime Video television series, so viewers who followed all four seasons can move directly into the movie.
New viewers can still follow the central mission, although familiarity with Ryan, James Greer and Mike November gives more context to the returning relationships.
When Did Jack Ryan: Ghost War Release?
The official streaming release date was May 20, 2026.
Prime Video announced the date as part of its May 2026 programming schedule, describing the project as a feature film that brings Jack Ryan back into espionage after the four-season series.
That means older descriptions calling the movie “upcoming” should now be updated.
The correct status is:
Stage | Status |

Trailer | Released |
Prime Video Premiere | May 20, 2026 |
Current Availability | Streaming |
Theatrical Release | Not the primary release model |
What Is Jack Ryan: Ghost War About?
The official premise begins with Jack Ryan being reluctantly pulled back into espionage.
An international covert mission exposes a deadly conspiracy linked to a rogue black-ops unit. Ryan is forced to work against the clock while reconnecting with familiar CIA allies and forming a partnership with a new MI6 officer.
The core team includes:
Jack Ryan
James Greer
Mike November
Emma Marlow
The film therefore continues the political-thriller and espionage framework of the Prime Video series instead of completely reinventing Krasinski’s version of the character.
John Krasinski Returns as Jack Ryan
John Krasinski returns as Jack Ryan after leading all four seasons of the Amazon series.
The film format gives the character a different kind of continuation. Instead of beginning a fifth television season, Amazon brought Krasinski’s Ryan back in a standalone feature-length story.
That allows Ghost War to continue relationships already established by the series while keeping the mission focused within a roughly two-hour movie.
Krasinski is also involved behind the camera as one of the film’s writers and producers.
Wendell Pierce Returns as James Greer
Wendell Pierce returns as James Greer.
Greer was one of the most important recurring characters across the original series and has a long working history with Ryan.
Bringing Pierce back gives the movie direct continuity with the television story rather than treating Ghost War as a soft reboot.
The official Prime Video synopsis identifies Greer as one of the CIA allies Ryan turns to when the new conspiracy unfolds.
Michael Kelly Returns as Mike November
Michael Kelly also returns as Mike November.
November became an important part of the later seasons of Jack Ryan, and Ghost War brings him into the new mission alongside Ryan and Greer.
The three returning characters give the film a familiar core before the story introduces its new players.
Sienna Miller Plays Emma Marlow
Sienna Miller joins the franchise as Emma Marlow, an MI6 officer who becomes part of Ryan’s mission.
Prime Video describes Marlow as a sharp intelligence officer who works alongside Ryan, Greer and November against the rogue black-ops unit.
Her presence gives the movie a new intelligence-agency connection beyond Ryan’s established CIA circle.
For viewers coming from the television series, Emma is one of the major new characters introduced specifically for Ghost War.
Jack Ryan Ghost War Cast
The current Prime Video listing includes:
John Krasinski
Wendell Pierce
Michael Kelly
Sienna Miller
Max Beesley
JJ Feild
Douglas Hodge
Betty Gabriel
Several of these performers return from the television side of the franchise, while others expand the feature-film story.
Who Directed Jack Ryan: Ghost War?
Andrew Bernstein directed the film.
Bernstein had already worked extensively in television before taking on Ghost War, including directing episodes across major drama and thriller series.
The screenplay is credited to Aaron Rabin and John Krasinski, with Krasinski and Noah Oppenheim associated with the story.
Amazon MGM Studios distributes the film through Prime Video.
How Long Is Jack Ryan: Ghost War?
Prime Video lists a runtime of 1 hour and 46 minutes.
That makes Ghost War considerably shorter than watching a full television season but long enough to function as a standalone espionage feature.
The shorter format changes the pacing compared with the series: the film has to introduce its conspiracy, reunite returning characters and resolve its central mission within one sitting.
Do You Need to Watch the Jack Ryan Series First?
It is not strictly necessary to understand the basic premise.
The movie establishes its central mission and identifies the characters involved.
However, watching the original four-season series first provides additional context for:
Ryan’s history with James Greer
Ryan’s relationship with Mike November
his progression within the CIA
the events that shaped his approach to field operations
For viewers who already completed the series, Ghost War works as the next chapter for Krasinski’s version of Jack Ryan.
Is Jack Ryan: Ghost War Season 5?
No.
Ghost War is a feature film, not Season 5 of the television series.
The original Prime Video series concluded after four seasons. Amazon then continued Krasinski’s Jack Ryan through this movie.
That distinction is important because search results can still mix phrases such as “Jack Ryan Season 5” with information about Ghost War.
Is Jack Ryan: Ghost War Available in India?
Prime Video lists the film with a broad selection of supported audio languages.
The current platform listing includes Indian-language audio options such as:
Hindi
Tamil
Telugu
Kannada
Malayalam
Language and accessibility options can vary by location and device, so the live Prime Video listing should be checked before watching.
Is Jack Ryan Ghost War on Netflix?
No official source identifies Netflix as the streaming home of this movie.
Jack Ryan: Ghost War is a Prime Video title distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, and Amazon describes it as streaming on Prime Video.
Users searching for the movie should therefore start with Prime Video rather than relying on third-party platform predictions.
Is Ghost War Connected to the Jack Ryan TV Series?
Yes.
This is the same John Krasinski incarnation of Jack Ryan from Amazon’s four-season series.
Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly also return, making the movie a direct continuation of that screen universe rather than another reboot of Tom Clancy’s character.
Sienna Miller’s Emma Marlow is a new addition created for the feature-film chapter.
Jack Ryan Before Ghost War
John Krasinski’s Jack Ryan series ran for four seasons before the film.
The series established Ryan as a CIA analyst repeatedly drawn into increasingly dangerous international operations.
Ghost War continues that pattern, but the official premise makes one change especially clear: Ryan has to be pulled back into espionage rather than simply beginning another routine assignment.
That gives the film a natural reason to revisit the character after the series ended.
What This Guide Does Not Claim
This article separates verified platform information from opinion.
It does not present:
invented audience reactions
fabricated critic quotes
unsupported ending interpretations
unverified sequel announcements
made-up box-office figures for a streaming-first title
A separate review can evaluate the finished movie, but a streaming guide should first answer the practical questions: where it is available, when it released, who is in it and how it connects to the series.
