Chand Mera Dil: Key Details

Who Is in the Chand Mera Dil Cast?

Ananya Panday plays Chandni, while Lakshya plays Aarav.

BookMyShow’s official theatrical listing identifies the two actors as the film’s leads and describes the story as a passionate college romance that is interrupted when adulthood and responsibility arrive earlier than expected.

The supporting cast also includes performers such as Manish Choudhary, Iravati Harshe and Aastha Singh.

At the centre of the film, however, is the relationship between Aarav and Chandni.

Ananya Panday Plays Chandni

Ananya Panday plays Chandni, one half of the film’s central relationship.

The story begins during the characters’ college years, when romance feels spontaneous and uncomplicated.

As their lives change, Chandni has to balance her personal relationship with adulthood, ambition and responsibilities that neither character expected to face so soon.

The role allows the film to follow the same person across two emotional stages: youthful first love and a much more complicated adult partnership.

Lakshya Plays Aarav

Lakshya stars opposite Ananya Panday as Aarav.

The official teaser introduces Aarav and Chandni as a young couple whose first love receives another chance.

Aarav’s relationship with Chandni begins during college, but the film later moves beyond the familiar campus-romance setup.

Their decisions begin to carry consequences, and the relationship becomes less about the excitement of falling in love and more about whether they can grow together.

Dharma Productions released the official trailer on May 10, 2026, less than two weeks before the theatrical release.

The trailer confirms:

• Ananya Panday and Lakshya as the leads

• Vivek Soni as director

• May 22 worldwide theatrical release

• Sachin–Jigar as music composers

• Amitabh Bhattacharya as lyricist

• Dharma Productions as the production banner

Rather than presenting the movie as a fantasy romance, the trailer focuses on a relationship that becomes increasingly difficult once real-life pressures enter the picture.

What Is Chand Mera Dil About?

Chand Mera Dil follows Aarav and Chandni from college romance into a much more demanding stage of their lives.

BookMyShow describes their relationship as one that is “struck by adulthood far too soon,” forcing them to balance their ambitions with responsibility.

Post-release coverage explains the story more directly: an unexpected pregnancy pushes the young couple toward marriage, dramatically changing a relationship that had begun as carefree first love.

From there, the film explores what happens when romance has to coexist with:

• career ambitions

• financial and family responsibilities

• insecurity

• emotional maturity

• changing expectations

• the reality of long-term partnership

The movie is therefore less about whether two people fall in love and more about what happens after love becomes part of everyday life.

Vivek Soni directed Chand Mera Dil and also receives story and screenplay credits.

The official Dharma Productions trailer credits:

The production team includes Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra and Marijke deSouza.
